If I were Santa I would mend every broken heart. I’d be a place of refuge from the storm, for every battle weary soul. I would search the globe─far & wide, for those who’ve no place to hide. Be they broken, battered, lost and abused─my loyal embrace─would be their hiding place.

If I were Santa I’d wipe every tear from the face of those who suffer. I’d travel to the ends of the earth to rescue lonely people, and introduce true belonging in place of empty longing. I would fight for the freedom of those bound to slavery, addiction, injustice, and pain and give them a reason to live again. If I were Santa, I’d end all wars and so much more.

Such are the days when Jesus came. To a young virgin and a carpenter man─Gabriel came to proclaim His name. A virgin birth of holy worth. A Savior King sent to redeem. A light so bright it lit up the night. Shepherds in the field─forever changed at the sight.

The Savior King would know the plight─of all who flee for their life. To Egypt they’d go in the middle of the night. A place of refuge Egypt would be─for a holy family forced to flee.

The wise men could no longer stay─King Herod’s men were on their way. Blood ran thick in the streets that day─an evil man’s futile plan.
Amazing grace grew and took our place. Upon a cross He lay His life. The Savior King’s story did not end that day─for in our hearts He choose to stay. Someday soon He will return. He’ll make all things right and warm the night.
Until that day His light I will invite─to shed warmth in the night. No place too dark, no room too small─His great big love is for us all. I know He mends, for in my sin, His breath of life─made me right. With arms wide open─He gave me hope. His life for mine─Love Devine.
The savior born on Christmas night was for all─a saving light. May we receive and share His gift of life and be the light in someone’s night.
“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” Charles Dickens
