“Grief is the price of love and a sign of a deep connection.” Ann Voskamp
Grief comes in different colors. There are days covered in shades of grey and others full of color. They present in colors and hues you never dreamed existed. After time, you begin to settle into this rhythmic rhythm.
Grieving loss is simply living proof of love’s forever deposit. Be utterly unashamed of your pain. Equally….embrace the love and memories that are yours to claim.
Rise and refuse to explain. Rest and reclaim. Refuse blame.
Grief comes in different colors. Mornings where the sun is held at bay and simply breathing takes my breath away. And. A gentle evening breeze that whispers sweet reprieve.
Loving and loosing someone who suffered addiction and mental illness will bring with it a whole other kind of grief. One of misunderstanding, judgment, righteous indignation, secret and ‘not so secret’ accusations, and a whole lot of uninvited opinions.
Hold your truth & love anyways.
Grief is painted in a myriad of colors. Dull. Hardly seen. Silent. Shy. Unspoken. Sacred. Holy. Shared. Vibrant. Alive. Seen.
All holy and sacred and seen.
