A New and Glorious Day

“Joy and pain, they are but two arteries of the one heart that pumps through all those who don’t numb themselves to really living.” Ann Voskamp

I wake to beautiful melodies sung by a plethora of birds who call my backyard home. How did they know that their songs are just what my heart needed on this morn? Sweet medicine for my soul. Their songs invite me back to life again─because joy truly comes in the morning.

I’ve learned that his anger lasts for a moment, but his loving favor lasts a lifetime! We may weep through the night, but at daybreak it will turn into shouts of ecstatic joy. Psalms 30:5 TPT

The morning doves have come to say, “new grace awaits you here today.” I hear in their gentle coo, “welcome to a new and glorious day!”

The harmony sung from so many trees invites me to a perfect peace. I fill my lungs with fresh air and rest─in this place of sacred grace.

On this splendid pacific northwest day, it seems the sun has also come. A kiss of warmth and enduring hope. Blooms in living color erupting from once dormant ground. I find beauty all around.

With outstretched arms and a grateful heart, I’ll take hold this fragrant grace─and live this gift of life─with my heart wide open.
