My Mother’s Day Wish

Dear first time moms; may you embark on the greatest joy in life—refusing comparison to any other. Your measuring stick is grace. You’ll get it right and you’ll get it wrong. There is no playbook for this beautiful journey. Grace is your embrace. You’ve been magnificently hand picked … to be their mama. Enjoy with your heart wide open!

Dear mom’s of adult children; may you live large in your irreplaceable place. May the joy of watching your children parent—fill your cup! May you live in total abandon to the whims of the ‘little people’ who call you “grandma.” May you live large and embrace every moment.

Dear moms who live with loss; May you find solace on this day. May the sting of today be met with an onslaught of loving memories. May your broken hearts be gingerly swaddled in fabrics of hope and ginger love. For some—you held your children—for others, this gift wasn’t given. May you never walk alone in your great sadness. May you find joy in knowing that you will forever and always be their mother. Here, and on the other side of eternity. For love is eternal.

Though you are gone and not here with me, The cord is still there but no one can see.
It pulls at my heart, I am bruised, I am sore. But this cord is my lifeline as never before.

Excerpt from The Cord – Author Unknown

Dear moms of children who suffer mental illness and addiction; You’re an elite group. You know the taste of tear soaked pillows and silent pain. Your loss is looked upon with great disdain. Stigma shadows your legitimate pain.

May you know this day—you are not the reason for your loss. Your babies suffer a lethal mix of brokenness and disease—they never asked for. May you be given the strength to rise above the storm, and know you’re not alone. May resilience be your armor and rest your weapon. Take heart, mama—He has left the ninety nine just for ours!

I am all of you.

And even after you’ve fallen hard—they see you keep falling hard for God. – Ann Voskamp

Our nightmares end when we accept that where we are, can still be where dreams come true. To accept is to wake to peace. – Ann Voskamp

Happy Mother’s Day, dear mamas.
