Gifts Wrapped In Human Form

I’m so thankful…. I’ve been richly blessed with precious gifts wrapped in human form — from a beautiful array of places. Some I call family, others friends, and many are strangers, — those who I have yet to be introduced.

What a gift it is to love, and be loved; by people from a myriad of different bkackgrounds, beliefs, views, interests, and ethnicity. With some I share the same faith — others have starkly different faiths — and there are those who adhere to no faith. Each enriching my life in beautifully unique ways.

Thank you for what you teach me. I am so much better because of you.

I love the vibrant colors of those in my life — and those whom I can’t wait to meet. Some of us bear many scars, while others of us are better at hiding them  — in the end… we all bleed the same — and are in need of the same things — love, acceptance, and belonging. Commodities that can never be bought — only given — received — and owned.

“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.” Mother Teresa

I hope that I will be diligent to kick down the walls that divide us  — living, breathing, people — created from the same dust — by the same God. Receiving the same breath of life — from the same life giver.

Looking back at the chapters of my life, I no longer live in deep regret for wasted time. Rather… I embrace my story with open arms. Without each and every chapter I would not be who I am today. My heart would be much smaller. Giving my heart away time and time again has only proven to enlarge it — I’m so thankful.

My story is littered with pieces of my heart spread across the road I’ve been blessed to travel. Through the winter, spring, fall, and summer of my days; you will find the good, the bad, the ugly, the blood, the sweat, and the tears. I’m so grateful.

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”  Brene Brown

Love walking arm in arm with risk and vulnerability — is a powerful force to recon with. Loss and brokenness are not failures — they are springboards for a life well lived!
